Dental Sedation Options for Alleviating Dental Anxiety in Irvine, CA
Oral Sedation:
Dental anxiety can be lessened significantly without an injection by taking a prescription oral sedative about an hour before the procedure. Just take the pill that we give you about an hour before your scheduled appointment and have someone drive you to our office (you will feel sleepy) where you will be greeted with a warm blanket and quiet place to relax. The sedative effects will allow us to complete the dental treatment without causing any fear or worry.
Nitrous Oxide (N2O):
Nitrous oxide has been used for many years as another needle free way to ease dental anxiety and fear fast and effectively. This colorless, odorless gas, sometimes called laughing gas, is inhaled during the procedure to produce feelings of peaceful relaxation. N2O is considered very safe and does not have any lingering effects after use. Once the gas is stopped, the patient usually recovers quite rapidly and is able to drive him or herself home.
We understand dental anxiety and we want to help. Sedation dentistry in Irvine, CA with Dr. Miller and Dr. Bounds makes dental treatment possible. Call us today for more information.
